so...... i can only guess its not been discussed before, but.................. whats the proper way to pronounce the word "ecotec?"

my cousin and me say it like echo-tek, but we've heard people say it like eek-o-tek.

I say eeko just b/c it's habit, but as everyone else has said, GM claims it is echo.

Everyone here in Vancouver (including GM dealers) says Eeeeeco - teck.

Only ever heard one person call it Echo - teck.. and that was in Seattle. Some old guy driving a really beat up Ramcharger...

i always thought it was EEE-CO-TEC because 'eco' means environment, thought it had something to do with that and being 'green'....

I dont see how there is any debate. GM says it is echo-tech. Since they made the word up and it is one of their products, I would say they are right and it is echo-tech.

As a company, if you have an ambiguous spelling for a product that you never name in advertising, then it's your own damn fault when people say it wrong.
